Arapahoe disability placards have mail, drop box, and appointment paths
A Porch Note from Colorado Porch — plain-English local details for all 64 Colorado counties.
A disability parking placard or plate is a motor vehicle errand, and like a lot of motor vehicle errands, it does not have to mean standing in line.
Arapahoe County offers three ways through it. You can mail your documents, leave them in a secure 24-hour Motor Vehicle Office drop box, or make an appointment and come in. Whichever path fits your week, the paperwork is the same, and the county hands you the state DMV’s eligibility instructions and application form to work from.
The medical piece is what makes this more than a form. Disability parking privileges are reserved for qualified people with disabilities, and a licensed medical professional has to verify the condition in writing. That signed verification travels with the application, so the convenient mail-or-drop-box route only works once the medical part is already in hand.
The order matters here. Read the county placard page and the state DMV page side by side first, then gather the form, your identification, and the medical verification so they match the current instructions before anything goes in the drop box or the mail.
