Custer vehicle registration starts with proof of insurance
Custer County requires proof of insurance when you register a vehicle. Bring it with you to the motor-vehicle counter in Westcliffe.
Several forms count as proof. You can bring an insurance card, declaration page, binder or policy, or a letter from your agent or insurer. The document needs the coverage dates, vehicle identification number, make and year, and expiration date.
The same requirement follows a temporary permit, so even a short-term registration is not a way around showing coverage.
Secure and verifiable identification is also required for most motor-vehicle transactions. Check the county’s list before leaving home, especially when the visit includes title work.
