The list shifts with the job. A new dwelling needs a signed application, a site plan, plans, proof of water, proof of sanitation, proof of fire protection, and the current deed. An interior residential remodel asks for far less: a signed application and floor plans, and that is most of it.

One line on that page is easy to read past: additional documents may be required case by case. It is not a catch. Two lots that look identical can differ in ways that matter to a reviewer: septic versus sewer, how the property is accessed, which fire district serves it, a mapped geologic hazard, a zoning note attached to the parcel.

Pull the full set for your exact project type before you log in, and treat that “may be required” line as a prompt to think about what makes your property unusual. The proof items in particular (water, sanitation, fire protection) can take time to track down from a well permit, a septic record, or a fire district, so they reward a head start. A submittal that arrives complete is the version that doesn’t bounce back asking for one more page.
