Send the same question to all three and you get three partial answers and more confusion than you started with.

Bring deed-of-trust foreclosure and release questions to the Public Trustee; take ownership and recorded-document questions to the Assessor and the Clerk and Recorder. Naming the right office first is often the difference between a single clear call and an afternoon of being transferred.
