El Paso County kiosk renewal has eligibility limits

El Paso County kiosks renew cars, pickup trucks, motorcycles, and coach or park trailers. They do not renew dealer, tow-truck, exempt-military specialty, commercial-fleet, collector, government, taxi, multi-year, or military-nonresident registrations.

Emissions and insurance checks must already be visible in the electronic system. After an emissions test, allow two business days. After obtaining or updating insurance, allow two to four days. The renewal postcard shows whether either check applies.

Read the postcard and county kiosk qualifications before choosing a machine. If the vehicle or plate type is excluded, use another official renewal method. If an electronic record is still pending, wait for the stated update period or contact the El Paso County DMV before the renewal window closes.
